Since we decided on their pick, the Seattle Sonics select: Sergio Rodriguez [PG, Estudiantes Club Madrid (Spain)]. Sergio Rodríguez is an off-the-charts basketball talent; one of just a few players capable of surprising even the most knowledgeable minds in the game with his moves. A very creative playmaker, he has a superb ability to generate offense, whether for himself or for his teammates, based on an outstanding skill set. Not a superb athlete, nor a physical freak, Sergio fills the bill for the basic tools required to carry his game to the next level. At 6-3, he has good size to handle the position while showing a nice enough frame for a point guard. Even if there’s still significant work to do, his body development in the past few years has been noticeable, particularly during the previous season. He won’t blow anybody with his athleticism, but he’s a fairly quick guy and he let’s his skills do the rest.

With the 19th selection in the 2006 NBA draft the Sacramento Kings select: Hilton Armstrong The Kings badly need a big man with some defensive pressence down low, I already traded for Jamaal Magloire and should probably go PG here but Hilton Armstrongs size and athletic ability are too good to pass up.

With the 25th overall pick in the 2006 NBA Draft, The Cleveland Cavaliers select... Daniel Gibson, Point Guard, Texas Reason: This may be a reach at pick number 25, but Gibson is the type of player that the Cavaliers are looking for. He will help the point guard position immediatly and may bring the NBA Championship to Cleveland next year.

I select..... Steve Novak; PF The guy is 6-10 and can shoot lights out. He's the perfect guy to stretch a defense out.

With the 30th Overall pick in the 2006 NBA Draft, The Washington Wizards select... Josh Boone... Power Forward/Center... UCONN Not an offensive threat, but in the Princeton offense, he won't be asked to do too much. Boone plays with passion, fire and is an athletic big man that can run the floor, finish close to the basket, and most importantly, rebound (over 50% of his boards are offensive) and defend. Expected to see time at PF, Boone has the height to play center, but may need to add muscle in order to do so. Also, a native of Maryland, Boone is right at home, and should be a welcomed addition to the Wizards.

And, with the 31st pick of the 2006 NBA Draft, the Washington Wizards select... James White... Shooting Guard/Small Forward.. CIN At 6'7" James White is capable of playing either the 2 or 3 positions, but at 200 pounds, he's better suited for the 2 (and he will need to add weight to do that), but the Wizards love his versatility and potential. White's ball-handling, passing and willingness to defend have impressed the Wizards, but more impressive is his athleticism and offensive ability. He has three point range and the ability to slash to the hoop, making him hard to defend and creating plays all over the court. The Wizards hope he will be able challenge Jarvis Hayes for the starting job at SG in the near future. Did I mention that he's a Maryland native?

With the 33rd overall pick in the 2006 NBA Draft, the Orlando Magic select: Bobby Jones [GF, Washington]. Big, athletic guard that can really defend on and off the ball. One of the best defensive shooting guards in college basketball. Tough as nails. Excellent rebounder for his size. Led UofW in rebounding last season. Gifted athlete who runs and jumps with the best of them... Tremendous lateral quickness. Great basketball IQ "Plays within himself" and a motor that doesn't stop. Great in transition and finishes well at the rim. Rapidly improving his jump shot and outside game. Wants the ball in crunch time and hit many big shots for the Huskies. An all out hustler who plays with the kind of intangibles that coaches love. Hard working and a hustle guy on the floor. Athletic – can score on the fast break and finish strong above the rim. Good rebounder for his size. He can defend three spots on the floor because of his great lateral movement, especially with the way that he slides his feet. He can guard smaller players on the perimeter, which gives him the ability to defend three spots on the floor in the NBA. The guy can do it all on defense. He's a disciplined defender, which is a great plus seeing how he doesn't leave his man to get a weakside block in order to beef up his own stats. The guy will come off of the bench to supply some defense shutdown ability, and the fact that he can guard three spots on the floor makes him a terrific pickup at this point of the draft. I might use him at PG or SG or SF, but wherever he plays, he can play there effectively.
